Admission
of any applicant to both domestic and international institutions is
based on the results of specific international tests. Some of these
tests applied at CENTRO COLOMBO AMERICANO are:
MET - Michigan English Test
This
is the new test designed by Michigan University after MELICET. This
test is required by several universities in Colombia and governmental
and private institutions in order for applicants to be admitted to
graduate courses or positions. It is applied since January 2009, on the
third Wednesday each month. It includes Listening, Reading, Grammar,
and Vocabulary Sections. The Speaking section of the test is optional.
MET is evaluated by the Michigan University Institute of Languages. It
is only sat at CENTRO COLOMBO AMERICANO all over the country.

TOEFL iBT
This
is maybe the most well-known international test for academic purposes
and admittance in Universities, especially in the US and Canada.The
test evaluates Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. Registration
is only completed on line, through the TOEFL web-page.

Test on general knowledge of specific areas.

QPT, Quick Placement Test
This test evaluates the English level of proficiency in a quick manner (20 minutes). It is applied on Wednesdays and Fridays, at 2 p.m.
