About us |
CENTRO COLOMBO AMERICANO (The
Binational Center) of Bucaramanga was founded in 1957 as a non-profit
making organization according to the Colombian laws. It belongs to the
group of 170 Binational Centers established in three continents by
citizens of the host country and American residents. Its foundation
conform to the regulations set out for the Binational (Colombia – US)
Centers in Colombia (BNC’s). The programs offered represent an
alternative to construct peace based on the coexistence of a
multi-cultural environment through the English Language. BNCs are
committed to impart comprehensive education, which includes the
organization of diverse cultural and informational activities such as
art exhibitions, conference on a wide range of topics, art club, film
club, provision of student advising services for scholarship and
exchange programs directed to students and professionals of any area.
Furthermore, the association with both domestic and international
organizations represents an opportunity for additional work exchange.
CENTRO COLOMBO AMERICANO (The
Binational Center) of Bucaramanga has a large bilingual library which
is useful for professionals, students, and teachers in the city of
Bucaramanga. Mastering of the English language is of the essence
nowadays if faster advancement in any field is sought. This is mainly
due to the fact that the advancements in the fields of technology,
communication, media, international relations, commerce, and vast
amount of information released on a daily basis require English for
their understanding. |

| Mission |

CENTRO COLOMBO AMERICANO (The
Binational Center) of Bucaramanga, as an educational and cultural
institution inspired on the quest for peace through bringing peoples
together based on language and cultural aspects, shall encourage a
comprehensive human development through the organization of cultural
and academic programs that, in turn, shall facilitate the exchange of
ideas with the United States of America and the world. Such exchange
shall be opened to all people regardless of their creed, origins, and
interests.

During the first decade of the 21st century, the CENTRO COLOMBO AMERICANO shall keep its leadership as a Binational, avant-garde,
multicultural center, opened to a diverse range of population
regardless of the origin, ideas, or interests of people. The Center
shall be kept as a space for the integral growth of human beings
through the Learning of English as a Foreign and Universal language for
the transformation of knowledge, learning of ideas, and as an evidence
of know-how strategies.
